Monsoon Treks In The Himalayas

Stok Kangri Trek

If you are not an expert climber, you should not attempt it since it will take you to an altitude of around 20000 feet. Aside from the physical difficulty of ascending the mountain, staying overnight in tents on steep slopes will be thrilling in and of itself. Look up when you go out of your tent at Mankorma at night. The Milky Way will be visible, not just a few stars strewn here and there as seen from cities. At about 16000 feet above sea level, the base camp will put your courage and strength to the test. You will feel as if life has suddenly become more than it used to be when you reach the summit after trekking for around 5 hours (2 hours on a glacier).

Pin Parvati Pass Trek

The walk to Pin Parvati Pass will take you to a world that is quite different from your own. Starting in Manali, you traverse the Himalayas to reach the serene Lahaul and Spiti regions. Take my word for it: even though the hike’s highest height is about 18000 feet, it will not be exhausting. Without having to go to a spa or massage parlor, the hot water springs of Manikaran and Khirganga will provide you with rejuvenation therapy.

Sham Valley Trek

For a win-win situation, head to Ladakh’s Sham Valley. Continue trekking over mountain passes and a few towns from Likir to Leh. Then take a rafting excursion down the Zanskar River to its confluence with the Indus, the cradle of Indian civilization, to boost up the excitement. Please do yourself a favor and see Leh’s famed palaces and monasteries while you’re there; you won’t want to miss it!

Khanpari Tibba trek

Make the most of your weekend by going on a two-day hike to Khanpari Tibba. The trip will be one of the most memorable two days of your life. Khanpari Tibba, at an elevation of over 13000 feet, offers panoramic views of the surrounding area, including Rohtang Pass, Hanuman Tibba, and Deo Tibba.

Pangarchulla trek

This is starting to seem more like a true climbing expedition, even though the altitude isn’t very high. You’ll be able to climb a decent mountain in just four days. The voyage begins at Auli, a beautiful, lush meadow in the summers and a white-robed ski resort in the winters, and continues to Gorson’s grasslands. Because the road to Pangarchulla mountain is full of rocks and stones, be cautious, patient, and slow.

Kugti Pass trek

It’s a fantastic hike to do over a week since it’ll take you to several alpine pastures where the grassy ground will feel more comfortable than your plush sofa or king-size bed. In Bharmour, begin walking through the deodar forests; after a short distance, you will pass the tree line and enter the alpine pastures. Simply lie down on the grass, breathe in the fresh, unpolluted air, and gaze out the window at nature’s bounty; it will help you forget about any tensions or emotional burdens you may have.

Chandratal trek

Hats off to Chandratal for being one of the greatest spots to escape the rains. Apart from the glacial lake, the hike’s highlight would be sleeping at Balu Ka Gera, which is thought to be a winter hibernation place for Himalayan brown bears. If you happen to come across these lovely omnivores, click them right away. The trek will take you to the Hampta Pass, which is covered in wildflowers, before taking you to the near-divine Chandratal.

Nag Tibba trek

It’s a very short walk, lasting about 1.5 days, so it’s perfect for beginners. Going on the trip might teach you some really useful trekking abilities. You’ll be walking through thick evergreen forests for the most part, with clearings at regular intervals. It’s as though nature recognizes that you’ll want to view snow-capped peaks now and again, so the trees fade away and you’re left with grassy vistas.

Markha Valley trek

Unlike other monsoon treks that culminate at glistening glacier lakes, this one concludes at a high pass with direct views of the Karakoram and Stok Kangri mountain ranges. The Markha Valley spans over 5 days from the first step to the last step in front of Kang Yatse peaks. The valley is enigmatic, concealing hidden birds, animals, and plants. Surprisingly, it also preserves Buddhist culture’s legacy. This route is unlike any other in that it is heavily influenced by religious beliefs.

Kanamo Peak trek

Himachal Pradesh is known for its towering peaks and diverse green sceneries. Despite being in Himachal, this is not the case with the Kanamo hike. The route ascends to the Kinnaur Lahaul Spiti area, exposing the arid and inviting mountains in all their glory. After Stok Kangri, it is the only monsoon trek that is challenging. This journey, which ascends to 19,000 feet, must be chosen before climbing the Stok Kangri summit.

If it weren’t for Stok Kangri, this would be an incredible trip of discovery in Himachal’s dry region. Green peas are grown in abundance in the unique Kaza and Kibber settlements. The trail’s slope becomes increasingly difficult as the elevation rises. It has it all: deep snow, moraines, loose rocks, boulders, and a lengthy summit climb. The Kanamo mountain is incredibly distinctive, even though it is not an easy walk. It is unique in terms of scenery, path types, and settlements. This monsoon, it’s well worth it to try something new.
